Hey Lykkers! Have you guys heard about Prenj? It’s this amazing mountain range in Bosnia and Herzegovina that’s like a hidden paradise. We were reading up on it and found some incredible spots to check out.


There’s the Provalije Waterfall, which sounds perfect for a peaceful nature walk. Then, there’s Veliki Prenj Summit for those of us up for a real hiking challenge, with views that are supposed to be out of this world.


And don’t miss the Ice Cave—it's got these stunning underground formations. We should totally plan a trip there sometime!


1. Provalije Waterfall


The Provalije Waterfall is one of Prenj's most stunning natural features. Nestled in a serene forested area, the waterfall cascades down a rocky cliff, creating a picturesque scene that is perfect for photography and nature walks. To reach the waterfall, visitors can drive to the nearby town of Konjic and then follow a marked hiking trail for about 3 kilometers.

For those seeking a challenge, the Veliki Prenj Summit offers a rewarding hike with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The summit, which stands at 2,315 meters, is accessible through a well-maintained hiking trail that starts from the village of Bjelimići. The trek typically takes 6-8 hours round trip, so it is recommended for experienced hikers.

Opening Hours: Accessible year-round, but hiking conditions are best from late spring to early autumn.


Transportation: To reach the starting point in Bjelimići, you can either rent a car or use local buses. Car rentals cost about $30 per day, while bus fares are approximately $10-15 each way. Be prepared for additional costs if you require a guide or special equipment.



3. Ice Cave


The Ice Cave is a fascinating underground attraction in the Prenj region. Known for its impressive stalactites and stalagmites, the cave provides a cool and unique experience away from the summer heat. Guided tours are available to explore the cave's various chambers and formations. Tours typically last around 1.5 hours and are led by knowledgeable guides who offer insights into the cave's geology and history.

Opening Hours: Tours are available from 9 AM to 5 PM, with last tours starting at 4 PM. Closed during the winter months (December to February).


Transportation: The cave is accessible via a 30-minute drive from the town of Jablanica. Car rentals are approximately $30 per day, or you can take a taxi for around $20-25 one-way.
