Hey, Lykkers fans! If you’re looking for an exciting urban adventure, Toronto is a city that has something for everyone.
Join us as we share some unforgettable moments from our recent trip to this vibrant metropolis!
We kicked off our trip at the CN Tower, one of Toronto’s most iconic landmarks. Standing at a towering 553 meters, this architectural marvel offers breathtaking views of the city skyline and Lake Ontario. We visited during the late afternoon, which was perfect for catching the sunset. Tickets were priced at $43 for adults, and the observation deck was open until 10 PM, giving us ample time to soak in the stunning sights.
After taking in the views, we made our way to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. This fascinating attraction showcases marine life from around the world, and the underwater tunnel featuring sharks and stingrays gliding overhead was an absolute highlight! Tickets cost $39.99 for adults, and it’s open from 10 AM to 9 PM. We spent hours wandering through the various exhibits, learning about the incredible creatures that inhabit our oceans.
After all that sightseeing, our stomachs were growling, so we set out to discover Toronto’s culinary scene. One local favorite is Peameal Meat Sandwich; however, we opted for a delightful vegetarian poutine at a charming diner in Kensington Market called The Grilled Cheese Boutique. This twist on the classic dish featured crispy fries topped with squeaky cheese curds and a rich vegetarian gravy. Prices here were reasonable, with the poutine costing around $10.
We also couldn't resist trying the famous butter tart for dessert! These sweet treats, filled with gooey goodness, typically range from $2 to $4 each, and we found an excellent spot at Baker Street. We sampled both the traditional and chocolate chip varieties—trust us, they did not disappoint!
For accommodation, we chose to stay at the One King West Hotel & Residence, which is conveniently located near the CN Tower and the Eaton Centre. The hotel’s stunning architecture and luxurious amenities made it feel special. Rates start at around $200 per night, depending on the season, but the comfort and proximity to major attractions made it worth every penny.
If you’re planning a trip to Toronto, here are a few practical tips to enhance your experience:
Public Transport: The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) operates a reliable subway, streetcar, and bus system. A one-way ticket costs $3.25, and a day pass is available for $13.50.
Weather: Toronto’s weather can be unpredictable, so be sure to pack layers and a light jacket, especially if you're visiting in the fall or spring.
Language: English is the primary language spoken, but you’ll also hear a mix of cultures and languages throughout the city, adding to its charm.
As we wrapped up our adventure in Toronto, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the memories we created. From the stunning sights of the CN Tower to the delicious vegetarian food we enjoyed, it was a trip filled with joy and discovery.
