The First Waterfall (Yi Ji): Nature’s Thunderous Display
Standing at a towering height of 207 meters (about 680 feet), this waterfall is famously referred to as the "Number One Waterfall in China." The water cascades vertically from the cliff, creating a thunderous roar and mesmerizing bead-like splashes. The surrounding mountains form awe-inspiring shapes, resembling a soaring hawk, a towering rock, or a sail gliding on water.
The Second Waterfall (Er Ji): A Natural Curtain
With a height of 85 meters (about 280 feet), this waterfall splits into two folds by a rock corridor. Its cascading waters resemble a curtain, earning it the name "Huaguoshan Water-Curtain Cave." The sable cliff and natural formations provide a captivating spectacle.
The Third Waterfall (San Ji): A Scenic Shallow Pond
Measuring 12 meters (about 40 feet) in height and more than 80 meters (about 260 feet) in width, this waterfall forms a shallow pond of about 2 mu (0.3 acres). The area is surrounded by unique rock formations, often accompanied by birdsong, creating a tranquil environment. The waterfall clusters are celebrated for their unique characteristics: 100 zhang (approximately 1093 feet) high, 100 zhang deep, and 100 zhang wide.
A Mirror-Like Lake
Celestial Summit Lake, perched atop Nantian Mountain, boasts crystal-clear waters that reflect like a bright mirror. The lake's center features an island resembling a carnelian jewel. Morning mist shrouds the lake, evoking a pristine and untouched aura, while sunset transforms the waters into hues of yellow and red.
A Lake of Three Parts
The lake comprises the Outer Lake, East Lake, and West Lake. Its calm waters and surrounding forests attract flocks of aigrettes, creating a picture-perfect setting. An island temple symbolizes blessings for the aquatic life within its depths.
Dear Lykkers! Flying Cloud Lake, located in the middle reaches of Flying Cloud River, spans 54.8 square kilometers (about 13,500 acres). The lake’s mist-covered surface is adorned with sailing boats, while verdant trees and bamboo groves line its banks. Old villages scattered throughout the area add a cultural charm.
